In 1986 the company entered the high reliability memory market investing heavily in equipment and key personnel. The first product releases were full ceramic modules. These products were quickly followed by an extensive range of ceramic monolithic product. As the real innovators in the market HMP were first to introduce the PUMA2 ceramic PGA product in 1986 and its surface mount equivalent the PUMA67 in 1991.
