Driving Instructions
From Newcastle Airport
- Exit the airport and turn left onto the
A696 heading south (toward Newcastle City Centre).
- After approximately 2 miles the A696
crosses the A1 at a major roundabout - turn left (North East)
onto the A1.
- Exit at the Seaton Burn roundabout
after approximately 4 miles and take the A19 heading South East
- toward the Tyne Tunnel.
- Continue (across one major roundabout
at Moor Farm) to the roundabout where the A19 crosses the A1058.
Take the first exit left from this roundabout (past the Stakis
Hotel).
- Continue straight ahead to the
roundabout in front of the Siemens Wafer Fabrication plant and
then turn right.
- Take the next right (1/2 mile or so).
Take the first left and this is Elm Rd.
- HMP is on your left.
From Newcastle Central Station
- Follow the one way system to the first set of
traffic light and filter right. At the next set turn right onto Westgate
road.
- Continue straight ahead through three sets of
lights to a major roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout
onto the A167(M) heading North. Exit the A167(M) after approximately 1
mile following signs to the A1058 and 'the coast'.
- Exit the A1058 after approximately 5 miles at
the roundabout where the A19 crosses the A1058. Take the first exit left
from this roundabout (past the Stakis Hotel).
- Continue straight ahead to the roundabout in front of the Siemens
Wafer Fabrication plant and then turn right.
- Take the next right (1/2 mile or so). Take the first left and this
is Elm Rd.
- HMP is on your left.
From London
- Head North on the M1 motorway.
- Take the M18 motorway east and after
approximately 15 miles get onto the A1M motorway heading North.
- At Leeming take the A19 and continue to
the Tyne Tunnel. At the first major roundabout on the North side
of the Tyne Tunnel, take the third exit (past the Stakis Hotel).
- Continue straight ahead to the
roundabout in front of the Siemens Wafer Fabrication plant and
then turn right.
- Take the next right (1/2 mile or so).
Take the first left and this is Elm Rd.
- HMP is on your left.
